Led by Mrs. Walker, four teams of fourth graders competed in a design challenge this past Saturday.
The Future City competition was sponsored by DiscoverE, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing resources, programs, and connections between K-12 students, engineers and STEM professionals.
This year's theme was "Above the Current". Jr Jags participating in this challenging competition began meeting back in October. Students researched, wrote an essay about, designed, and built a sustainable, floating city 100 years in the future.
Mansington City of the Skies was created by William, Anson, Nathan, and Landon. Waterfall City was created by Alexander, James, and Jaxon. New Island was created by Alexandra, Allison, and Wyleigh. The City of Waterfalls was created by Taylor, Lila, and Elle.
A lot of collaboration, hard work, failures, and fixes went into each city! Congratulations on a job well done fourth graders! We are proud of how you represented Tipps!
